Assigning a task in a second language: the underrated skill

Giving a clear instruction, confirming a deadline, checking that a colleague has understood: these everyday acts look simple, but they demand a particular kind of linguistic precision. An ambiguous instruction is paid for in delays, rework and frustration. That is why Insitu's OF10 path is devoted entirely to assigning tasks at the office. Across four progressive lessons, learners practise identifying the components of a task — what, who, when, at what priority — asking for clarification without hesitation, rephrasing to confirm their understanding, and reusing those skills in a realistic simulation. The final quiz validates what has been learned and feeds the learner's skills profile.
